EXHIBITION DAVID LACHAPELLE "LOST + FOUND"

From March 30 to July 30, 2017.
Instituto Cultural Cabañas

In different rooms of the Instituto Cultural Cabañas could be appreciated the different photographs that make up the exhibition, in which the artist David LaChapelle used different techniques to elaborate this series: some are model type; Others, wax figures and another, modern still lifes.

In this room also exposes the series called New World, with which, he commented, could return to its artistic origins, which was to work in pieces to be displayed in art galleries, away from commercial photography or magazines.

As part of the creative process to create this series, he resumed analog photography, in the search for the human figure in nature.

As a first step, this series is inspired by some themes that have always fascinated the photographer: rebirth, religion, human silhouette and sexuality. In working analogically he has painted on the negative, using a technique he invented in the 80s, so the photographs show traces of tapes and some fingerprints that denote manual work.
